New Certificates

Got my new certificates from Oxford Ancestors. Pretty to look at, but they don’t really change the fact that my results are being revised in part because of sloppy lab work. Take a look:

  1. Nice blog.I had the same experience with Oxford Ancestors as you did. They called my mtDNA sequence as haplogroup U based on just one hypervariable region. When I had it redone at FamilyTree DNA, this time with both hypervariable regions, they called it V. I recently had the full mtDNA done at FamilyTree DNA, and now I’m clearly in V2 as described in Herrnstadt et al. Amer. J. Hum. Genet. 70:1152-1171, 2002. Looking at the branches of V2 in Herrnstadt’s paper, it seems clear from my sequence there will be more branches as more sequences are published in the scientific literature.
